I was asked to write a piece about my girl Glitz. There is so much to say about her. From all her sports accomplishments to her helping me every day here at 24k.
Glitz is my foundation bitch. I researched pedigrees and just knew she had to be a Rush Hill girl. I started training Glitz from the day I brought her home. She was a petite little girl, very balanced and so willing to learn. I trained her using shaping and capturing methods, she just caught on and we ran with it. She started earning titles at 6 months old and still is to this day at 9.5 years old. Glitz is always willing to learn new things and play any games I introduce her to. I know this is not supposed to be a list of your dog’s accomplishments bio, but it makes up such a huge part of our journey together. From Conformation, Agility, Obedience, Hunting, Rally, FitDog, Scent work, Distance Dock Diving, Air Retrieve, Hydro Dash, FastCat, and Coursing, she is one of the most well-rounded multipurpose dogs I have ever had the pleasure to call my partner.
Glitz has also dedicated herself to the Morris Animal Foundation as one of the 3000 study participants Hero #2783. Glitz is my partner in all my day-to-day activities here at 24k. She continues to be my demonstration dog for all my training classes. Her solid temperament and willingness to please make this a very easy job for Glitz. Glitz is my heart girl and has also produced some amazing offspring. One of her pups is currently serving as a diabetic alert dog. I have trained many dogs over the years, I have owned many dogs and still do, but Glitz is by far one of the most special dogs that I have had the pleasure of working with and I pray our journey is far from over. I cannot express in words all Glitz means to me; she is an amazing, sweet, smart, beautiful girl so willing with such a gentle soul.
