Cannon: The Dude with ‘Tude!
The second puppy I received from Rush Hill and he was out of Kirby and Blossom. He was a blond bomb. He was always so ready to please. We won Best Puppy in Sweeps Specialty in 2003 with your truly showing him. I was ecstatic. He never let down and always did everything with vibrant enthusiasm.
As a newly finished Champion, we went to the Gettysburg National in 2005. With over 1000 entries I was thrilled that Cannon and I made it through multiple cuts in the bred to the last 2 cuts. How excited I was to see myself and Cannon surpass many of the top 20 dogs in the breed ring. I will never forget his awesome stack that he held. As we ended our go around, I stood in front of the judges sitting area. Multiple judges inquired about his pedigree, one specifically being Jon Chase. My heart could not have been any bigger at that moment. Unfortunately, Cannon’s show career ended short due to trauma to the testicle (source unknown) whereas he had to unfortunately be neutered. He continued to be shown in the altered classes in Canada always strutting his stuff, less his “stuff”
